Time is running out to show your support for strong environmental laws for the Northern Territory. Make a submission here.

Hundreds of Territorians have made submissions in support of strong environment laws for the Northern Territory. Now, as the Government considers its final draft environmental protection framework, it’s important that they continue to hear from the community. Don’t miss this opportunity to have your say.

With industry lobbyists working hard to undermine these important reforms, it’s vitally important that we speak up now for nature and the rights of local communities.

Why do we need strong environmental laws?

The healthy coasts, rivers, wetlands and natural landscapes of the Northern Territory are central to our way of life, our culture and our livelihoods.

Over the years, we’ve seen first-hand the way that weak environmental laws have paved the way for destructive development and shut the community out of important decisions.

From the McArthur River to Port Melville, our landscapes are littered with the lasting legacy of an ‘anything goes’ approach to industrial development – an approach that is enabled by the Territory’s outdated and weak environmental laws.

With development pressure intensifying every year, we need strong environmental laws to protect the natural values and way of life that make the Territory such a special place.

Please show your support for strong environmental laws today – for nature, for local communities and for the Territory way of life. Click here to make a submission to the NT Government today (This will only take 2 mins!)
